God Is Faithful
This title, "God Is Faithful" could about be written for every article from a Christian's heart. For all that we are and have is a testimony to God's great faithfulness in our lives.
Today I was reminded afresh of God's faithfulness - in answering prayers and being true to His word. I received a call from a young man that I have had the privilege of pastoring for awhile. His family became members of the church I pastor when he was about 15 or 16 years old. I watched him complete high school and enter into college -- a large state school in another town.
While at school, this young man -- like many, like myself -- didn't maintain a close walk with Jesus Christ. Oh, he came to church occasionally when he made his way home - but one can tell when the fruit is not present. And like I say, I've been there. Plus his dad would often ask for prayer for his son.
This young man completed university, and then joined the service. Was not long afterwards that he met and married a girl -- rather hurriedly, at his post. Again, more concern and prayers for the direction of his life.
Recently this young man and his wife welcomed the birth of their first child.. Oh boy -- children, unsettled children, raising a child. More prayers and concern.
Today he calls me, out of the blue. He and his wife and baby have been attending a church near their home. They like it, but he wants my advice on what he should be looking for and asking about as it concerns a church home. (Rather mature of him, I thought.) He later discusses that he knows that it is his duty as the spiritual leader in the home, that he needs to do this and make sure his family is rooted spiritually and growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus, and serving Him. He must lead.
I am proud of him. Proud of the man he is and the one he is becoming. The prayers of his parents and church family have not gone unheard. God is working in this young man's life, leading him to be a Godly man and husband and father.
You see God is faithful. Praise His name!
